Jon Bews has been playing the violin since the age of four. After completing his degree in classical violin at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Jon decided to change his focus to traditional Scottish music.
Over the years Jon’s playing has broadened even more and he is comfortable and happy playing any type of music in any setting, especially if it gives him an excuse to make weird sounds on his electric violin. Jon is now based out of Edinburgh where he lives with his family. He plays in multiple bands including function bands, trad bands, and rock groups. He tours internationally on a regular basis as well as enjoying the local session scene in Edinburgh.
